My first BlogSo this is my first time writing a blog, let's see what comes out. Last Saturday, Kaci and I were fortunate enough to photograph Jenni and Michael's wedding. It was also my first wedding photographing with my new camera equipment. I've been using my old lens for so long that I was a little apprehensive. After photographing Michael and some of his friends and family, the new equipment became second nature. We had a great time meeting everyone and being treated like family. Jenni's sister, Maria, has a degree in Culinary Arts for baking. She made one of the best wedding cakes I've seen and tasted in a long time. My inspiration to start photographing weddings again after a 3 year break is due to Catie. Catie and I met on Valentine's Day four years ago. In the months before, we both had our hearts broken. We met for dinner and haven't been apart since. Last October on a camping trip along the Oregon coast, on a rainy morning, after she had a cup of coffee just to make sure she was fully awake, I did something I said I was never going to do... I asked her to marry me, and to my joy, she said yes! Our (Catie and I) photography business recently got a huge boost when Kaci joined us as a second shooter. Kaci brings calmness and a different experience in photography. I'm able to relax a little and not have to run around making sure I get all the shots. Summer is fast approaching and with that my favorite wedding venues, anywhere outside. I love when a couple uses the natural beauty of our area to showcase their wedding. martin |
