A Very Special Wedding Present
About two weeks before our Wedding, my fiancé’s dog, Sasha, escaped from the yard. We spent days driving, walking and biking around the area, putting up flyers and just asking everyone we came across. No one had seen her. We contacted an organization called HomeAgain who help by giving ideas on what to do and notifying vets and shelters in your area.
On the morning of our wedding, with a heavy heart, we departed to Amador County. We placed a bowl of water, food and Sasha’s favorite blanket on the front porch just in case Sasha showed up.
The day of our reception my good friend Brent asked me if I thought we would fine Sasha and I answered with total confidence, Yes.
The next morning, Catie, my new wife, called me and said she had just talked to someone who said that they had just found Sasha. I jumped in the car and raced to the address and there she was. I called to her and she jumped in the car as though nothing had happened. Sasha suffered a broken foot but nothing major.
One thing we have always done with our dogs is replacing their collars and tags regularly. We always have a current photo of them together and by themselves. All of our dogs have always been chipped and licensed.
